Meet Your Self – Introduction to Ayurveda March 15 and 22

Here’s a chance to grow your knowledge and understanding of how to live a healthy life.

We are so pleased to welcome back Ayurvedic Doctor Raj Ramnath for this two part series of workshops on Ayurveda.

Learning Ayurveda or Vedic Science essentially will open the door to a new approach –  an insight into mother nature’s unity in spite of diversity, understanding the nature of our body, and the body as natural living part of the environment. Ayurvedic studies will reveal deep insights about yourself and how to be true to yourself. Expressing the self, being authentic to your nature and trying to find the balance in self is the path to wellness.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the oldest healing science. Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples.

Ayurveda emphasizes good health and prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle practices (such as massage, meditation, yoga, and dietary changes) and the use of herbal remedies.

Ayurvedic medicine is holistic, which means viewing the body and mind as a whole. Ayurveda not only treats a person’s physical complaints, but it also changes lifestyle practices to help maintain or improve health.

All holistic medicines recognize that individual variations exist and treatment should be individualized. Treatment starts from the understanding of self. Understanding the Ayurvedic genetic makeup of self will empower individuals to a certain extent to initiate the first steps of healing, the journey of long miles should start by meeting the self in you.

The 2 day workshop on Ayurveda will introduce you to basic principles of Ayurveda, knowing the Ayurvedic genotype or body constitution – the first step to know self, health in Ayurveda and how to individualize food according to each person.

Benefits of Ayurveda

The primary benefits of studying Ayurveda are personal, familial, communal and professional. Regardless of where your goals lie, we must begin the path with healing ourselves. Self healing, known as swasthavritta, is the first step to healing others. The workshops will familiarize you with the basic principles .

A skilled Ayurveda Wellness Counsellor will tell you to be clear about the authenticity of who you are, and all that you need to stay in balance. You are one of a kind. Your life experiences, your childhood, your family karmas, your physical needs, your nutritional needs, your emotional needs – everything you need to stay alive and in balance is original, and as unique as the fingerprints on your fingers. You are like no one who has ever lived. You can’t heal yourself, or anyone else for that matter, by living someone else’s lifestyle, or eating someone else’s diet. To heal yourself, you must be you. To heal another, you must show them who they truly are by nature.

Sunday March 15 and 22 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM $40 for both workshops Please reserve your spot by etransfer to
